We Hike in Beautiful Places

Chemin de Saint Jacques (South Central France)

Le Puy en Velay to Figeac

Le Puy en Velay to Figeac (this is part of a possible 24 day 2 trip tour - see trip 2 here)

Come walk with us on a quiet 200-kilometer footpath in the Massif Central, through a rural part of south-central France, following the pilgrimage trail, Le Chemin de Saint Jacques. On this 14-day walking holiday, starting in Le Puy en Velay at the headwaters of the Loire River, we follow an ancient Roman Road and the Way of St. James (the GR 65) to the pilgrimage site of Conques where stands a magnificent Romanesque abbey and the relics of Saint Foy, a Christian martyr and patron saint of prisoners.

This site once attracted thousands of pilgrims on their journey to Santiago de Compostela , located 1400 kilometers away in the northwest corner of the Iberian Peninsula.

From the abbey in Conques, we continue our pilgrimage to the town of Figeac, on the banks of the Célé River.

Guided Tours include: 14-days of hiking with 13-nights of carefully selected hotels and inn; visits to historical sites, and off-the-Camino side trips are all part of this wonderful journey through rural France. All breakfasts, 6 lunches and 6 dinners are included in this tour.
