In Austria, one of my favorite hiking destinations is the Zillertal wherefore valleys come together right at Mayrhofen, the village where we stay. There probably are more trails within walking distance of the hotel in this location that any other place we hike.
The mountains are not as high as those found in Switzerland but they're beautiful and the trails are very well maintained.
